There is a wide range of sporting facilities available in the area. Sevenoaks has a sports and leisure centre and there are cricket and rugby clubs in Sevenoaks and Tonbridge. Poult Wood Golf Course is a mere 500 yards away and other golf clubs in Sevenoaks include Wildernesse and Knole, with Nizels in Hildenborough which also has a private health/fitness centre.
There is an excellent range of schools in the area. Primary schools include Sevenoaks and Seal (www.kent-pages.co.uk/education). Grammar schools include Weald of Kent Girls, Tonbridge Girls and Judd Boys in Tonbridge and in Tunbridge Wells, Girls and Boys Grammar Schools and The Skinners’ School for Boys.
Secondary education includes Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Sutton Valance and Walthamstow Hall Public Schools. Preparatory Schools include Sevenoaks, Solefields and New Beacon in Sevenoaks, St Michael’s and Russel Schools in Otford, Somerhill School in Tonbridge and Coombe Bank School for Girls in Sundridge.
The area is exceptional due to the excellent communications, with particularly strong train links into the city of London, the Continent and South Coast. There are fast mainline services from a number of stations including Tonbridge, Hildenborough, Borough Green and Sevenoaks that run to Charing Cross, London Bridge, Victoria and Waterloo East, taking approximately 35 – 40 minutes.
The road network is also particularly good with the M25 and M20 being within easy reach. This in turn enables fast access to the wider national motorway network. Gatwick and Heathrow airports are easily accessible, as is the Channel Tunnel Terminal. The A21 is a short drive away linking the M25, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and is the main link through East Sussex to the coast.
Excellent shopping facilities are very accessible, all being within striking distance and can be found at nearby Tonbridge, Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells as well as at the Bluewater shopping centre at Dartford.
